Welcome

Welcome to my site! I am currently a faculty member at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, HCMC University of Technology and Education, Vietnam. I also work as Director of Academic Research at Yorkville University, Canada.

With 15+ years of experience teaching adult learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, I am dedicated to fostering inclusive, engaging learning environments that prioritize student success and belonging. I have taught a broad range of courses, from Academic Writing to Digital Technology and Social Media Application, and Research Methodologies. I integrate technology to enhance learning experience with a commitment to academic excellence, critical thinking, and professional development.

 

As a researcher with 10+ years of experience, I have led and contributed to complex research portfolios across multiple institutions including the University of Windsor, Western University, Arizona State University's Global Educational Research Lab, the University of Highlands and Islands, and HCMC University of Technology and Education. My research leverages analysis software including R, SPSS, and MAXQDA, enabling sophisticated quantitative and qualitative data analysis that drives evidence-based institutional decision-making.

I employ strength-based approaches to investigate International Student Experience, Acculturation, Intercultural Competencies, Student Agency, and Academic Resilience. My research centers on understanding the complex factors that shape student lived experiences across cultural boundaries. My recent studies examine the multifaceted influences on students’ college choices and study abroad intentions, acculturation trajectories, and help-seeking behaviors.
 

I have presented at leading international conferences including AERA, ASHE, CSSE, ASHE, and CIES. My work is published in top-tier journals such as Higher Education, International Journal of Multicultural Education, Journal of Studies in International Education, and International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education, where I contribute to global discussions on international higher education and multicultural education practices.

My Ph.D. is in Educational Studies from University of Windsor, Canada. I earned a master's degree in TESOL from HCMC Open University and a bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Teacher Education from HCMC University of Technology and EducationMy career goal is to become an independent and experienced researcher in Educational and Cultural Studies while also being a dedicated educator committed to creating a creative, innovative, and inclusive learning environment.
